An Evening at The Iron Horse
Updated: Aug 22
Back in December, I attended a Repeal of Prohibition Party at The Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee. I ended up winning Best Dressed Flapper girl and was awarded a free night stay! I wanted to save it for a special occassion that I really wanted to treat myself for, so I decided to spend the night before my birthday there. That way, I could wake up to 28 in style!
When Paul and I lived downtown long ago, our view used to be the 6th St bridge and The Iron Horse. Now this was finally my chance to wake up there! I immediately felt like a VIP when we arrived. The staff greeted us warmly at check-in with a welcome cocktail - yes, please! I don't have any doggos (right now) but I totally appreciated the fact that the hotel is dog friendly. My kind of atmosphere!
Shortly after getting settled into our room, there was a knock on the door and in rolled a bottle of bubbles and a charcuterie board from my bestie, Riva! God, that girl gets me. It was the perfect treat to get us ready for our dinner reservation. I was so excited to wear this vintage LBD that I got from Plume! The fit was like it was made for me, I just had to take it home and a birthday was the perfect occassion for it's debut.
I loved getting glammed up for the evening in this room. Their bathroom decor was totally my aesthetic - clean and sleek, and best of all? A walk in shower with a waterfall head. Come to mama. I wanted to take all of the decor home with me. Especially the cowhide bench at the foot of the bed! Naturally, we had to take advantage and snap a couple pictures in the space. When in Rome, right?
Even the room service was packed with some of my favorites. Corned beef hash and sourdough toast for breakfast, or chicken wings for an evening snack - you just can't go wrong! I must say, The Iron Horse and I have quite a bit in common. I had a glamorous evening, a glorious night of sleep in that bed, and an overall grand stay. I'm so grateful for the award and the treatment that I received during my birthday stay. If you're overnight in Milwaukee, I can't recommend The Iron Horse Hotel enough!
