DOMEsticated

One of my very favorite things to do is hang out on a roof top. As a kid I'd crawl out my bathroom window face first to be on my roof - and yes, I've tried that tactic a time or two as an adult. Nowadays, this little hobby of mine is far more widely available with an abundance of rooftop patios. The only kicker is that I live in Wisconsin, where the air is so cold it hurts for a good portion of the year. Unless I'm fortunate enough to be traveling, I'm in a rooftop dry spell. But Café Benelux has my back...

This weekend, I was able to snag a spot for a lady date at the Lux Domes on the rooftop of Café Benelux! Dome-o arigato to Lauren Hansen (Lauren Luvs) for setting it all up! To sweeten the deal, it was actually a beautiful sunny day in the 50's so it almost felt like spring had sprung! It was my idea of a perfect date...all we needed was a light jacket! Haha..

These plastic igloos are the perfect setup for a group outing. A separate menu and beverage package are tailored to make your reservation feel VIP, and it fits up to 8 people! They had heaters and blankets, but I was a big fan of the faux fur touches they incorporated into the seating. Part of the package deal is that everyone gets to take home a commemorative mug - being a collector of mugs myself, this was much appreciated.

For an hour and a half, we got to take in the splendor of the city from the rooftop - in January. In Wisconsin. What more could a girl ask for? I guess you could say I've been DOMEsticated...
