Pre-Routine Steam
It's time to get steamy with your skincare routine! Giving your face a good steam can be a highly beneficial addition to your skincare routine. Steaming your face for 10 minutes, once a week opens up your pores, enabling you to clean out that stubborn clogged dirt and allowing your products to penetrate your skin and be more effective. Steaming also promotes circulation and can help counteract the signs of aging.
Here's what you need to do:
Cleanse your skin
Pour boiling water into a bowl - hot tip: a metal bowl is a bad idea
Add any enhancements you desire (see below)
Lean over the bowl, making sure to keep your face 8-10" away from the water
Drape a towel over your head to contain the steam, continuing for about 10 minutes - close your eyes and breathe deeply *do not steam too close for too long, the heat can cause inflammation
Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry. Your skin is extra sensitive right now and a towel could be too abrasive
Apply your skincare routine
Massage your face - I like using my rose quartz roller for this
There are tons of options you can explore to enhance your steam, depending on the results you desire.
